Project: 2024-4
Status: IN PROCESS – WAITING ON VENDOR
The PVC pipes drawing water from the pond to the pond pumps has failed.
We have attempted to contact the vendor that initially installed the pump house on several occasions. The vendor has not responded to our calls.
As a result, we have been forced to contact another local vendor (TP Howard), who we have worked with on several occasions in the past.
TPH has attempted several repairs, all of which have failed.
If we are unable to effect a repair, the pond will need to be drawn down to provide sufficient access to affect the repair.
Until this repair is complete, we are not able to increase the pond water level.
Update: August 7, 2024
The fourth repair attempt on the feeder pumps has failed.
We are now faced with drawing down the pond to execute the repair.
The repair rate and costs for the pump house have been much higher than expected.
The board is reviewing the next step in conjunction with other open work items related to the pond in order to arrive at a plan for addressing this and other issues.
Update: August 19, 2024
A huge thank you to Ken Hummel and Pat Salamone for taking the time to meet with Jon, Ryan, and Scott Gray last Tuesday.
Their wisdom and knowledge is vast, and they helped us move forward on a strategy for pump house repair.
Pat was able to get through to the initial contractor who installed the pump house, and helped us arrive at a solution.
Short version of the current plan is to slightly modify the intake pipes by incorporating a flexible fire hose where the intake line was breaking. We are waiting on a proposal from the vendor.
THANK YOU KEN and PAT!
